Wash Bay Attendant
Key Outputs:
Utilize the correct washing procedures for different materials, using appropriate chemicals and wash machines.
Inspect part cleanliness, damage, and compliance with quality standards.
Scrub, scrape, or spray machine parts using scrapers, brushes, cloths, chemical cleaners, abrasives, compressed air, and metal preservatives.
Safely mix hazardous chemicals, cleaning solutions, and other compounds for cleaning parts and operating cleaning machines.
Efficiently and safely operate cleaning machines (Bupi and Proceco), forklifts, cranes, sandblasting machines, and pressure washers.
Perform pre-wash procedures and monitor the operation of cleaning machines, reporting any malfunctions to the supervisor.
Maintain inventories of cleaning supplies and equipment, and ensure a safe and orderly workplace (6S).
Conduct daily forklift maintenance, material and finished product handling, and loading/rigging of machinery.
Understand the assembly line process and plan/prioritize washing jobs as per schedule and priority.
Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies:
Minimum Grade 12 education
Verbal comprehension and hand-eye coordination skills
Physical resilience
Ability to obtain forklift and overhead/jib crane operator certifications within 90 days of appointment
Ability to follow instructions under supervision
Valid Code B driver’s license (an added advantage)
