Netcare is committed to delivering safe, compassionate healthcare. We value dignity, truth, participation and care — and we’re looking for a friendly, organised Receptionist to be the first point of contact for patients, visitors and clinicians at our rehabilitation hospital.
Role Overview
The Receptionist greets and assists patients and visitors, manages admissions and patient records, handles telephones and queries, and supports a smooth patient journey. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, basic financial handling, and accuracy with data entry in hospital systems (SAP preferred). Differently-abled candidates are encouraged to apply; a valid disability certificate is required.
Key Responsibilities
Welcome and direct patients, visitors and clinicians with warmth and professionalism.
Manage patient admissions and pre-admissions, verify personal and medical aid details, and ensure consent and documentation are completed.
Maintain accurate patient records in SAP and other digital systems; attach required supporting documents.
Explain medical aid benefits, collect co-payments and process payments (cash and card) according to SOPs.
Answer and transfer calls promptly, record messages accurately, and resolve basic enquiries.
Monitor and maintain a clean, welcoming reception and waiting area.
Support digitisation efforts: assist patients with the Netcare Mobile App and online admissions where needed.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and governance standards.
Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.

Computer proficiency and accurate data-entry skills.
Excellent verbal communication and customer-service skills.
Valid disability certificate (for this differently-abled candidate post).
Preferred
Previous hospital or healthcare reception experience.
Experience with SAP ISH and knowledge of medical aid benefit structures.
Prior customer-service or cash-handling experience.
