Position Overview
The successful candidate will engage in both theoretical and practical training modules, aiming to achieve certification as a Train Assistant. Key responsibilities include:
- Completing the theoretical training program within the designated timeframe.
- Gaining competency to operate equipment and perform tasks in an operational environment.
- Maintaining detailed records of all training experiences.
- Executing assigned duties as per Transnet Freight Rail (TFR) guidelines.
Qualifications
Candidates must have:
- A minimum of Grade 12 with pure Mathematics and/or Physical Science.
- A height of at least 1.6 meters.
- The ability to lift heavy objects and pass psychomotor assessments.
Competencies
Knowledge of various communication systems, depot layouts, locomotive classes, and safety protocols is essential. Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong self-management and stress-handling skills.
- A safety-conscious attitude and punctuality.
- Willingness to work shifts and adapt to operational demands.
Additional Requirements
