About the Road Accident Fund

The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate individuals injured in motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner, and to promote safe road usage actively.

Purpose of the Job

The Administrative Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative support to the Claims department, ensuring efficient operations and policy compliance.

 

 

Key Performance Areas

  • Compliance Administration:
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation related to departmental activities.
    • Ensure adherence to policies and process standards.
    • Stay informed about internal standards and business goals.
  • Office Coordination:
    • Follow up on outstanding matters.
    • Handle requests within set timelines.
    • Manage stationery availability and validate submitted information.
    • Capture documents accurately in various systems.
    • Allocate reference numbers and manage document distribution.
  • Meeting Support:
    • Arrange meetings and manage team diaries.
    • Take and distribute minutes according to governance standards.
    • Create a register to track outstanding matters.
  • Document and Records Management:
    • Administer records management in line with the RAF filing plan.
    • Ensure confidentiality and proper filing of documents.
    • Acknowledge receipt of documentation and maintain an up-to-date filing system.

 

Qualifications

  • Matric or Grade 12 certificate.

Experience

  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in an administrative or similar environment.
