We are now recruiting for a Waitron at Fancourt, South Africa’s premier golfing, leisure, and lifestyle destination located in George, in the heart of the Garden Route.
Role Overview
As a waitress, you will be responsible for serving customers in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner. We seek individuals who are driven and passionate about the hospitality industry and can uphold the standards of the Leading Hotels of the World.
Key Responsibilities
- Set-Up: Prepare cutlery, food, and equipment; ensure cleanliness; refill condiments; prepare tea and coffee.
- Meal Service: Adhere to LQA standards; provide menu advice; take and deliver orders; ensure safe transportation of orders; process bills accurately and promptly.
- Clean and Re-set: Clean up after your shift and prepare for the next shift.
- Willingness to Assist: Be prepared to assist with other duties as needed.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience as a Waitron in a 4* or 5* establishment.
- A Waiter certificate and knowledge of Micros and Guest Connect are advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills, tact, confidence, good listening skills, and the ability to read and understand basic English.
- Well-organized and able to cope under pressure; capable of upselling and performing basic calculations.
Additional Requirements
- Candidates must have their own accommodation in George or surrounding areas.
- Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and shifts.
- Physical fitness to carry out the responsibilities of the role.
