As a Packer, you will be responsible for maintaining the daily activities related to a production line to ensure quality finished goods are produced and released to downstream processes on-time-in-full or as prescribed per the production plan.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric or recognized equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of 5S – Housekeeping.
- Exposure to a food manufacturing environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
Safety and Quality:
- Follow all Nando’s Feitoria safety rules and policies.
- Adhere to all statutory and company’s safety rules and policies.
- Always wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain 5S/housekeeping to the required standards in or around the area of responsibility and any other areas when requested.
- Report near misses, unsafe behavior, and incidents to immediate supervisors, managers, EOHS Officers, or SHE Reps.
- Ensure 100% compliance with safety rules and adhere to zero harm and zero alcohol tolerance safety principles.
Operations and Equipment Usage (Machine and Forklift):
- Perform set-up tasks/duties within the assigned work area, referring to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions for details.
- Assist in attaining safety, quality, productivity, and equipment effectiveness goals in the assigned work area.
- Ensure equipment is in order by conducting a 5-point check on equipment before operation every shift.
- Follow the lock-out system when conducting 5S.
- Record scrap levels daily on shopware.
- Participate fully in production to attain an Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) score of 65% or higher in the work area.
- Ensure scrap scores do not exceed 2% in the area.
Miscellaneous Tasks/Activities:
- Participate in all required inventory control activities, including stock takes.
- Engage in Nando’s Feitoria (Operational Excellence) initiatives.
- Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by the team leader or manager.
- Be prepared to work overtime when required.
