Duties and Responsibilities:

Cape Union Mart — Waterfall Mall is recruiting a Permanent Part-Time Sales Assistant to join our Stores Central team in Rustenburg. In this role you’ll do more than handle transactions — you’ll create memorable customer experiences. Your day will involve greeting customers, offering expert product advice, and using proven selling techniques to exceed expectations and drive sales. You’ll receive hands-on product training so you can confidently match customers with the right clothing, footwear, or outdoor gear. Achieving and surpassing individual targets is a core part of the role, and you’ll play a direct part in increasing store turnover by spotting sales opportunities and converting interest into purchases.
Working with inventory and store presentation is another key responsibility. You’ll follow stock loss controls and maintain accurate stock-handling practices to protect company assets. Visual merchandising standards are important at Cape Union Mart — you’ll keep the shop floor tidy, restocked and inspiring, ensuring displays reflect current trends and seasonal campaigns. Maintaining a welcoming, well-presented environment helps customers feel at ease and supports stronger sales results.
We’re looking for someone with at least six months of retail experience, a Matric (or equivalent), and a clear criminal record. Practical computer skills and basic Microsoft proficiency are essential for everyday tasks such as stock checks, sales reporting, and internal communications. Strong communication skills and a friendly, service-minded attitude will help you thrive. A good understanding of current clothing trends and the outdoor lifestyle will be an advantage, enabling you to advise customers with confidence.
