Cleaners at Jubilee District Hospital carry significant responsibility for maintaining a safe, sanitary environment. Daily duties include sweeping, mopping, damp and dry dusting, polishing floors, and cleaning windows, walls, basins, sinks, lockers, beds, kitchens and bathrooms. Staff are expected to empty and manage waste in designated areas, open windows daily for ventilation to support infection control, and follow cleaning checklists that ensure toilets and other facilities meet hygienic standards. Routine replacement of consumables such as toilet paper and hand soap, secure storage and care of cleaning equipment, and prompt reporting of hazards or equipment malfunctions also form part of the role.
