We are currently seeking a motivated and energetic Shop Assistant/Cashier (P27) to join our team.

Purpose of the Role

The primary purpose of this P27 role is to deliver an exceptional customer shopping experience through stock replenishment, merchandising, housekeeping, and efficient processing of transactions at till points.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills to enhance the shopping experience.
• Communication Skills: Fluent in English; proficiency in any other language is beneficial.
• Tenacity: A determined and persistent approach to tasks.
• Energy Levels: High energy levels to keep up with the dynamic retail environment.
• Motivation: Highly motivated and target-driven.
• Experience: Previous retail experience is advantageous.

Key Responsibilities

 

1. Customer Service:
   • Provide excellent customer service to ensure a great shopping experience.
   • Assist shoppers in finding the goods and products they are looking for.
   • Attend to customer queries and complaints promptly.
2. Cashier Duties:
   • Process cash and card payments efficiently.
   • Handle Lay-Bys and process customer refunds.
   • Report discrepancies and problems to the supervisor.
   • Balance the till at the end of shifts.
3. Merchandising:
   • Ensure that stock is correctly priced and displayed.
   • Maintain product availability on the sales floor.
   • Keep the store tidy and organized.
   • Stay up to date with promotions and sales.
4. Risk Management:
   • Ensure that products are tagged in line with company policy.
   • Participate in stock takes as required.
   • Be vigilant for shoplifters and fraudulent activities,
   • reporting any suspicious behavior to management.
5. Values and Policies:
   • Consistently embody the company’s values and adhere to policies and procedures in all aspects of your work.
