TB HIV Care (THC), a distinguished non-profit organization since 1929, is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Peer Educator. We provide health care services across South Africa, focusing on populations at increased risk for HIV and TB. As a Peer Educator, you will contribute to our mission by conducting mobilization, pre-vulnerability screening, and case management to support Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in HIV prevention and care.

Purpose of the Position:
The Peer Educator will play a crucial role in mobilizing AGYW for HIV prevention, conducting pre-screening, and implementing effective case management strategies. This position requires a commitment to promoting continuation in care for AGYW initiated on PrEP.
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12
Age between 18-29 years
Accredited/recognized 10 Days HIV counseling certificates
Certified to conduct finger-prick testing
One (1) year related experience and/or training
Proficiency in English and isiXhosa languages
Residing within the allocated ward
Driver’s license and own transport (advantageous)
Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct mapping to identify hot spots for AGYW mobilization
Collaborate with community organizations, youth structures, and health workers
Educate AGYW about HIV and available prevention services
Implement case management strategies
Ensure referrals to outside agencies
Support team in assessing youth needs for HIV prevention
Report operational challenges to the Structural Programme Coordinator
Attend training, workshops, and participate in team meetings
Submit monthly reports and tools to the supervisor
