On this day, which marks the beginning of the second set of coronation festivities, King Misuzulu kaZwelithini will be presented with a formal document recognizing him as the legitimate monarch of the amaZulu people.

Prince Simakade, the eldest son of King Goodwill Zwelithini kaBhekuzulu, reportedly requested KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube to cancel financing for this weekend’s reed dance, which was set to take place at the Enyokeni Palace.
The late King Goodwill Zwelithini’s father, King Cyprian Bhekuzulu, had his son, Prince Mxolisi Zulu, write to Dube Ncube warning of the danger of “bloodshed” if King Misuzulu is granted use of the eNyokeni Palace for the annual reed dance.
