Society has become so crime-infested that people have to look out for their safety whenever they are out in public, and this has led to many SA citizens being fed up with always having to live in fear because of the crime rate in the country and because they feel like the law officials that have been placed in positions where they have to ensure that the society that citizens exist in is safe and sound. Because of the high crime rate in the country, many citizens have taken safety measures in order to ensure that whenever they go out in public and they are faced with a criminal, they will know how to protect themselves.

And this is what most communities in the country are also doing. Residents of certain communities are working together to ensure that their community is being kept safe from dangerous criminals and that criminals are being made aware that their communities are no place in which criminality will be tolerated. Unfortunately, some residents believe that the police in the country might not be doing much in punishing criminals whenever they are caught, or when they are caught, they are later released back into society again and still continue to commit crimes.

This has resulted in community members taking matters into their own hands, and when they come across criminals, they choose mob justice instead of calling the police first. This is what the community in the province of Limpopo decided to do when they caught illegal Zimbabwean foreigners who stole a car that belonged to a South African citizen. The criminals did not get far until residents caught them and beat them up. People reacted in the comments by stating that the residents did a good job and that this might be the only way to stop criminals from attacking communities.
