The Auditor-General South Africa (AGSA) is inviting applications for its 2025 Training Learnership Programme, an empowering opportunity designed for unemployed South African youth aged 18 to 35 years with a valid Grade 12 certificate. This comprehensive programme offers practical on-the-job training, mentorship, and a nationally recognized qualification in auditing and public financial management.
Participants in the AGSA Learnership gain structured work experience through rotational assignments across various AGSA departments, enhancing their skills in audit planning, risk assessment, and financial controls. Alongside hands-on training, learners earn a National Diploma in Internal Auditing or Financial Management, providing a strong foundation for a career in public and private sectors.
Applicants must be South African citizens who have been unemployed for at least six months. The selection process includes online literacy and numeracy assessments, followed by panel interviews. Successful candidates receive a monthly stipend and continuous professional support from assigned mentors.
The programme starts in January 2026 and runs for 24 months. It aims to not only equip learners with technical skills but also to nurture ethical leadership and accountability in governance, reflecting AGSA’s critical role in promoting transparency in South Africa.
