Stats SA regularly undertakes major projects and surveys, such as the Census, Community Survey, Labour Force Survey, and General Household Survey. These projects require the appointment of contract staff across the country.

### Locations

 

Contract opportunities are available at Head Office, as well as in various provinces and districts nationwide.

 

 

### Contract Details

 

– **Employment contracts** will specify duration, job content, remuneration, and other conditions.

– **Working tools:** Employees provided with work tools will be paid after returning them.

### General Requirements

 

Applicants must:

– Have a minimum of a Senior Certificate (Matric or equivalent)

– Be proficient in any of the 11 official languages

– Be willing to work weekends and outside normal office hours

– Be an RSA citizen with no criminal record

 

 

### How to Apply

 

1. **Create a profile** and attach all required supporting documents on the [Stats SA HR Contract Database](https://statssa.gov.za/hr).

2. **Note:** Registrations without supporting documents will be incomplete and not considered.

3. If invited for training/competency assessment, you must submit certified copies of your ID, Matric certificate, and driver’s license (if applicable). Certification must be within 6 months of submission.

 

 

### Important Information

 

– Stats SA will verify documents and references as part of the recruitment process.

– Shortlisted applicants will be invited for competency tests and/or training assessments.

– Appointments for censuses and surveys will be made within local communities (no transport provided).

– Applicants must disclose if they are directors/shareholders of a company or conduct any business with government institutions/municipalities.

– Applicants must consent to Stats SA using their personal information for recruitment purposes.

– Meeting the minimum requirements is necessary to be invited for training/competency exercises.
