Position Purpose:
The HAST Counsellor Driver will be responsible for transporting peer-led outreach teams and equipment to various service locations. The role also includes conducting readiness assessments for PrEP, pre-test, post-test, supportive, and adherence counselling services.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- Valid 10-day HIV/AIDS counselling certificate from a recognized provider
- Certification to conduct finger prick testing
- Minimum two years of driving experience and working in HIV and TB programs
- Valid code EB or C1 driver’s license with PDP
- Proficiency in English and isiZulu

Duties and Responsibilities
- Transport PPPrev teams and equipment to designated locations.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and submit checklists on time.
- Provide quality HIV counselling and testing services.
- Facilitate individual and group health education sessions.
- Assess service users’ readiness to start PrEP.
- Document all activities using Comm Care or paper-based tools.
- Collect data at outreach events using attendance tools.
- Screen service users for COVID-19, tuberculosis, and STIs.
- Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team while maintaining professionalism.
- Refer service users for additional tests as needed.
- Adhere to relevant legislation and organizational policies.
