Job Description

Seize this opportunity to join Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine, a values-driven company that cares for its people unconditionally. Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine is a wholly owned subsidiary of Assore Limited. Our mine, situated in the Limpopo Province about 60 kilometres from Lydenburg and 40 kilometres from Burgersfort, is a world-class producer of Chrome Ore. The successful applicant will report to the Miner or nominee.

Minimum Educational Requirements:

• Grade 10/Standard 8 Certificate
• Competent B Certificate
• Code 08 (EB) Driver’s Licence

Experience (including but not limited to):

• Completion of the relevant approved training programme
• Advantageous: 6 months of practical experience as a Competent Operator on Drill Rig

Duties (including but not limited to):

• Safely operate the Drill Rig within designated areas and follow set operating standards to achieve set production requirements.
• Operate the Drill Rig to achieve production requirements. Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery.
• Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub-performance/non-conformance or deviations, and report to the Supervisor.
• Do the pre-shift inspection of machines, machine parts, and/or components of the production line to ensure production flow according to standards within prescribed processes and procedures.
• When equipment is faulty and at the end of the shift, the lock-out procedure is followed and failure time is recorded.
• Perform minor maintenance on the Drill Rig by greasing the boom and changing consumables. Report all other maintenance issues to the Artisan.

The successful candidate will be appointed on the Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine Conditions of Employment, which includes being certified medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act 29/1996.
