Some researchers have discovered that many SA’S are not happy with the current situation in the country, and more so, they are not happy with president Cyril because of some unfulfilled promises. According to these researchers, many people are not believing in the government anymore, and others have lost faith in the ability of the president to fulfil any of his promises.

That’s how researchers have categorised South Africans’ emotions, as their happiness dropped below the average of 6.85 earlier this year to only 6.44 on Sunday following the announcement of stage 6 load-shedding. The people were gradually losing faith in the government before the stage 6 load shedding was announced. However, after the country metamorphosed into stage 6 load shedding, their trust in the president and his government was further crippled, the researchers say. People are now complaining bitterly about the ugly turn of events.

The WELLBEING economists Professor Talita of the University of Johannesburg and Dr Stephanié Rossouw of Auckland University of Technology have developed an indicator that can measure happiness in real-time using sentiment analysis, which is applied to a live feed of Tweets. It was these economists who studied and came up with the results that several people are not happy with the government. They had high hopes and expectations when the government began. The promises the president made to the people were enormous,

but the fulfilment has been relatively slow or not forthcoming. The researchers also discovered that people are afraid that more fake and empty promises would be made now that the election is gradually drawing near. Nevertheless, stage 6 load shedding occupies the main focal point they are not happy with president Cyril Ramaphosa. The researchers further disclosed that people are also worried about employment and security challenges. These are some daily challenges confronting the people every day that have made them lose trust in the government and more so on president Cyril Ramaphosa.
