Products South Africa is recruiting learners for a 12‑month Chemical Plant Machine Operator learnership at its Mid‑Vaal Packaged Gases facility, offering a practical route into petrochemical manufacturing for young people in the Meyerton area.

The programme targets South African citizens aged 22–30 who have matric with Maths and Science, are currently unemployed, and have not previously participated in a learnership. Successful candidates will gain hands‑on experience in plant operations and safety‑critical work practices while developing communication and organisational skills valued across manufacturing roles.

The learnership is based at the Mid‑Vaal site and applicants should live within about a 40 km radius (including Sicelo, Evaton and nearby townships). The advertised stipend is R5 000 per month — modest but typical for entry‑level learnerships where on‑the‑job training and formal workplace experience are often the primary benefit. Candidates should be team players with good verbal communication and a willingness to learn.

Air Products is a long‑standing industrial gas supplier in South Africa, with a footprint in bulk, cylinder and specialty gas markets. The company emphasises safety and quality: it holds ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 22000 certifications and a five‑star NOSA rating. For learners, this means training in regulated, safety‑conscious operations — a strong foundation for future technical careers.

With over a thousand applicants already showing interest, competition will be strong. Prospective applicants should prepare a concise CV highlighting matric subjects, any practical experience, and proof of residence. Applying could be the first step into a manufacturing career that combines technical skills, workplace discipline and opportunities for further development
