The South African Police Service (SAPS) is seeking dedicated and committed individuals to join our ranks as Police Officers. As a Police Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining law and order, serving and protecting our communities, and upholding justice across South Africa.

Requirements:

Adherence to all instructions on the application form
Hand delivery of applications to local Police Stations during office hours
Submission of required documents:
Identity Document (uncertified copy)
Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification (uncertified copy)
Tertiary Qualifications (uncertified copy)
Academic Record (uncertified copy)
Driver’s license (if applicable)
Testimonial (School / Church / Traditional Leaders)
Service Certificates from previous employers (if applicable)
Selection Process:
Applicants who meet the initial requirements will undergo the following selection process:

Medical examination: Body Mass Index (BMI) ≤ 30 and Waist Circumference ≤ 102 cm (males) / ≤ 88 cm (females)
Personal interview (for short-listed candidates)
Vetting under the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences and Related Matters) Amendment Act, 2007 (Act No 32 of 2007) and the Children’s Act, 2005 (Act No 38 of 2005)
Submission of a buccal (inside cheek) sample for forensic DNA profiling as per the Criminal Law (Forensic Procedures) Amendment Act, Act 37 of 2013

Late applications will not be considered.
Short-listed candidates with entries in the National Register for Sex Offenders or Part B of the Child Protection Register will be disqualified.
Successful applicants’ DNA profiles will be included in the National Forensic DNA Database.
