Role Description:
As a Storeman at National Wholesale Voltex, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operations of our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the warehouse, organizing inventory, assisting with stock-related tasks, and providing support to various departments when needed.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Maintain the warehouse, ensuring general upkeep and cleanliness.
Properly label all inventory items for easy identification and tracking.
Ensure that all stock items are placed in their correct bin locations.
Assist in receiving stock, checking its quality, and packing it away securely.
Help in fulfilling customer orders by pulling the required stock.
Conduct regular and weekly cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
Assist in stock take preparation and participate in the stocktaking process.
Investigate stock variances and promptly report them to the branch manager.
Provide support to other departments during peak times or backlogs.
Role Requirements:
Educational Requirements and Experience:
Matric / Equivalent is a MUST.
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a warehouse or stock handling environment is an ADVANTAGE.
Good electrical product knowledge.
Knowledge of warehouse processes and relative safety standards, including protective clothing.
Skills and Competencies:
Physical stamina to handle the demands of the job, including lifting, standing, bending, and carrying boxes.
Critical thinking ability to analyze and solve problems related to stock management.
Strong mathematical skills for calculating loads and managing invoices and bills of lading.
Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in work tasks.
Reading comprehension to match orders with the right items.
Dependability, reliability, and a strong sense of responsibility.
A co-operative attitude, being pleasant to work with for colleagues and customers.
Ability to work independently and in a team under pressure with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
