Polokwane Municipality is seeking applications for the position of IG Community Safety Officers EPWP (x8) within the By-Law Enforcement and Security unit.
Contract Duration: 9 Months
Rate: R271.14 per day
Requirements:
- A Grade 12 Certificate
- Valid Security Certificates (PSIRA)
- Clean criminal record
- Age between 18 and 35 years

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Security Officers at access control points.
- Protect and secure Council premises, property, and personnel through regular patrols to prevent crime.
- Patrol with law enforcement officers to monitor and enforce by-law compliance within municipal jurisdiction and other areas of Council interest.
- Manage and oversee access control by completing necessary registers and confirming appointments.

Important Notes:
- These positions are part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) and are available for a limited contractual period only.
- Suitable candidates will undergo a suitability check, including criminal record and qualification verification.
- Applicants must be prepared to work in various geographical areas across the City of Polokwane’s Council premises. Preference will be given to candidates residing within the City of Polokwane’s jurisdiction.
The Municipality reserves the right not to make an appointment. Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in accordance with the Employment Equity Act.
