Position Overview:

Location: Western Cape

Contract: Permanent

Remuneration: Market Related

Job Description:

As a Buyers Assistant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting the Condiments and Dressings team by providing comprehensive administrative support to the Buyer. Your responsibilities will include:

 

Managing administrative supplier management tasks promptly and efficiently.

Facilitating regular communication with suppliers and ensuring timely reconciliation.

Collaborating with buyers and planners on supply, pricing, and availability issues.

Assisting with order processing and maintaining static data.

Generating departmental reports and documents as required.

Coordinating promotional activities and ensuring accurate transmission of price and pack information.

Managing departmental operating expenses and tracking payments.

Handling ad-hoc queries and requests effectively.

Minimum Requirements:

 

Minimum of 2 years relevant administration experience.

Matric (Grade 12) qualification.

Accounting diploma is advantageous.

Proficiency in various systems including Supplier portal, COGNOS, CAM, JDA FF, FILA, RMS, FPI, FPP, ORACLE, and Qlik.

Computer literacy in Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and Word.

Basic understanding of retail accounting practices, Buying, and Planning principles.

Sound analytical skills with attention to detail.

Strong willingness to learn and adapt.

Behavioural Skills:

 

A collaborative team player with a focus on accuracy and detail in administration.

Proactive with the ability to anticipate team requirements.

Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing.

 

Deadline-oriented with excellent planning and organizational abilities.

Customer service orientation with integrity and confidentiality.

Results-driven and proactive with a focus on achieving objectives.

Open-mindedness and the ability to see the bigger picture.
