This surge from previous years’ averages signals a bright future for the nation’s financial expertise, announced by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) on February 28, 2026.

The APC, the final hurdle in the rigorous CA(SA) qualification journey, tests candidates’ ability to apply technical knowledge in real-world scenarios. Over 1,200 aspirants sat for the exam, with 732 emerging victorious – a testament to their unyielding dedication amid economic pressures and study demands. SAICA CEO Freeman Nomvalo hailed it as “a proud moment for our profession, reflecting resilience in challenging times.”

This achievement shines especially for youth from townships and rural areas, many overcoming poverty through bursaries and mentorship programs. Top performers like Johannesburg’s Thabo Mthembu, who balanced full-time work with late-night studies, embody the grit driving SA’s skills revolution.

As Proverbs 24:16 reminds us, “For though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” This 61% pass rate isn’t just numbers – it’s divine favor rewarding perseverance, fueling SA’s economic growth and ethical leadership.
