Role Purpose:
The General Assistant will ensure comprehensive customer service within the store, focusing on loading and merchandising stock, shelf price labelling, and maintaining housekeeping standards in designated areas of responsibility. Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Advise and assist customers with product inquiries and resolve any complaints effectively.
Merchandising:
Ensure bulk stock areas are merchandised safely according to the store layout plan.
Maintain full merchandising of assigned areas in compliance with store layout and planograms.
Safety and Housekeeping:

 

Keep aisles free of obstacles to ensure safe customer movement.
Merchandise stock immediately upon receipt to avoid clutter.
Ensure correct shelf price labelling in your area of responsibility.
Compliance and Reporting:
Complete checklists as required during shifts, including canteen and toilet/showers schedules.
Adhere to safety regulations (OHSA) by using safety gear and ensuring the safety of customers and colleagues.
Report discrepancies or damaged stock to the Store Manager promptly.
Performance Standards:
Achieve set targets while maintaining accuracy in work.
Deliver best practice quality standards as established by the company.
Follow through on commitments and identify root causes of issues for resolution.
Decision Making:

 

Make informed decisions within company policies and timelines, considering the consequences of actions taken.
Requirements:
Strong communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Attention to detail in merchandising and safety compliance.
Previous experience in retail or customer service is advantageous but not mandatory.
