Job Overview
Pedros is seeking a friendly and efficient Cashier to join our team in Cape Town. In this role, you will be the face of our store, ensuring that every customer has a positive shopping experience. Your primary responsibilities will include processing transactions accurately, handling payments, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Greet customers warmly and assist them during their shopping experience.
Transaction Processing: Operate cash registers and point-of-sale (POS) systems to accurately process sales.
Payment Handling: Collect payments via cash, credit, or debit cards and issue receipts.
Product Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of current promotions and assist customers with product inquiries.
Cash Management: Balance cash registers at the beginning and end of shifts and maintain accurate cash receipts.
Cleanliness: Keep checkout areas organized and tidy to ensure a smooth transaction process.
Requirements
Experience: Prior experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is preferred.
Skills: Strong communication skills, basic math proficiency, and familiarity with POS systems.
Attitude: A positive demeanor with a commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with handling various payment methods including coupons and gift cards.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while multitasking.
