The Department of Community Safety and Transport Management is excited to announce the Road Traffic Management Learnership Programme aimed at empowering unemployed youth aged between 18 and 35. This initiative offers participants the opportunity to gain valuable skills and experience in road traffic management while receiving a monthly stipend of R3000 for a duration of three years.

Learnership Programme Details

  • Position: Road Traffic Management Learner
  • Reference Number: REF NO: 01/2024
  • Stipend: R3000 per month
  • Duration: 3 years

 

Requirements

To qualify for this learnership, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: Unemployed youth between 18 and 35 years old
  • Education:
    • Grade 12 Certificate or Vocational National Certificate Level 4 (Statement of results will not be accepted)
  • Identification: RSA Identity Document
  • Clearance: Police Criminal Clearance Report (to be obtained from South African Police Services, processing time of approximately 3 weeks)
  • Medical Fitness: A medical report confirming fitness for strenuous exercise/training, issued by a registered health professional with an official stamp
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license (Code 08, 10, or 14); learners’ licenses are not accepted
  • Appearance: No visible tattoos
  • Proof of Residence: Must be obtained from the Municipality or Traditional Council (No statement of account will be accepted)

Important Notes

  • Applicants who have previously participated in a learnership programme within the Public Service will not be considered.
  • Candidates who will be 36 years or older during enrolment will not be accepted.

 

Application Process

Interested candidates must submit their applications using the improved Z83 form, effective from January 1, 2021. The application must include:

  • A fully completed and signed Z83 form
  • A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV) with at least three references including updated contact details
  • Copies of all relevant qualifications (originally certified)

Closing Date

All applications must be submitted by 11 October 2024. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Selection Process

Candidates will be expected to attend selection interviews as determined by the department. The department reserves the right not to make any appointments.
