The Matric Dance, which takes place during the matriculation last year of high school, is the South African equivalent of the prom (12th grade). It happens near the end of the third quarter, just before spring break, which is followed by the start of the matriculation exams.

A significant milestone in your academic career is matric dance. It represents entering adulthood and acknowledges the effort you put out to finish your secondary education.

It is merely a day to acknowledge how far you’ve come in your educational journey. Matric farewells are occasions for students to unwind and have fun, but they should take place after the final exams so that students may prepare for and concentrate on their finals.

One other thing that’s important about matric is about the car or the way you make your entrance, This young lady made an entrance in a coffin, and this caused a stir on social media with some claiming a coffin is not something to play with.
